About Bolaños Island

Bolaños Island is located at the Pearl Islands, the Pacific Ocean, 42 miles (67km) away from Panama City, located in the 2 largest archipelagos of Panama. This island is one of the less-visited destinations of the Pearl Islands.


The island has a beautiful beach club and 2 restaurants.

Bolaños Island opens to the public only from Wednesday to Sunday.

On Mondays and Tuesdays, the island closes for maintenance and cleaning.

You can get to Bolaños Island with the ferry, buying a day pass or a travel package with the beach cabins. You can also travel to the island with a helicopter from Panama.

Whale Watching

Every year between July and September. Thousands of humpback whales visit the Pearl archipelago.

Shared trips every weekend.

Bolaños becomes one of the main departure points for whale watching in Panama.
